VPS Evander shortlisted for Claims Innovation of the Year

Streamlined insurance process bridges gap between home emergency make-safe and permanent repairs

Returning for their 7th year, the Insurance Post’s Claims Awards 2017 has shortlisted one of the brightest stars of the UK general insurance claims sector, VPS Evander, part of the leading property management specialists, the VPS Group. They are finalists in the Claims Innovation, Outsourced Partner category.

Their emergency permanent repair initiative has dramatically streamlined the claims and customer direct process, bridging the gap between the cover of home emergency and home awards finalist

National Account Manager Graeme Mutch explained: “Experiencing smashed glass or loss of keys can be emotionally devastating and our initiative is reassuring our customers that they will be put back to normal, either on day one or at their convenience, making a real difference to the lives of 15,000 insurance customers who have been left distressed and vulnerable following a home emergency.”

The renowned Claims Awards represent the pinnacle of achievement in the insurance industry and reinforces the difference that the leaders in the sector can make, and the headline sponsor is the UK’s leading risk and insurance law specialist, BLM.

VPS Evander attends over 30,000 domestic emergencies per annum to make safe damaged windows and doors and change locks across the Home Emergency insurance sector. The policies typically cover the emergency temporary repair/make-safe but not the permanent reinstatement, so in the event of an insured peril, the customer is required to make a second phone call to their home insurer to make a claim.

Up to half of all home emergency jobs attended by VPS Evander have a requirement for follow on, permanent repair. Following close engagement with Insurance and Home Emergency clients, the company worked collaboratively across both sectors to create a combined direct customer and insurance initiative for permanent repair on up to 15,000 emergency jobs serviced per annum.
