We gain the ‘double’ in The Glass Awards 2017 shortlist

Our Glazing and Locks teams have made the finalists’ rostrum in two categories in the 2017 G-Awards, the most competitive and prestigious awards in the glass industry.

Under our new division name, VPS Property Solutions, we have been shortlisted in both the Customer Care Initiative and Commercial Project of the Year categories.

Backed by the leading organisations and corporate giants in the sector, such as Pilkington’s, the G-Awards celebrates glazing excellence, from glass fabrication through to installation and product innovation.

For the Customer Care award, we entered our Home Emergencies Response initiative, which is making a real difference to householders who’ve suffered a break-in. Streamlining the claims-to-customer process has narrowed the gap between insurance claims and permanent repair. Experiencing smashed glass or doors can be upsetting and make homeowners feel vulnerable; this initiative reassures customers by returning their homes to normal as soon as possible.

For Commercial Project of the Year, a rather tired 1970’s office block in Kensington, London, has been given a dramatic new lease of life with some striking glass work, including large openings on the main façade, challenging ‘origami-style’ motorised skylights in the roofing, and a stunning glass balustrade that runs through four storeys.

Earlier this year we scooped major honours, beating a strong field of US and UK insurance giants, to win a top prize in the Insurance Post’s Claims awards.
